The front of the boot has full grain leather, reinforced toe bumper and a flanged composition toe cap that is ASTM-approved for impact and compression. A mesh- synthetic fabrication makes the backs of these hikers breathable. The 6-inch height in combination with a padded collar provide protection to ankles and the Achilles tendon. A kick plate and pull tab in the back of the hiker helps your foot get in and out.
Underfoot the 989v1 has a rubber outsole that meets or exceeds ASTM F2913-11 requirements for slip-resistance in oily and wet environments - keeping you covered indoors and outdoors. The 989v1 is also non-metallic and ASTM rated for secondary protection against electrical hazards.
